AFROSAF User Guide
The Data Analytics and Knowledge Management Team (DAK) in the WHO AFRO office have developed a web-based tool for countries to leverage the African Scalability Assessment Framework (AFROSAF) to provide analysis of how well a health program can be expanded to make sure its successful and can be continued in the long term.
The AFROSAF web based tool is currently available in English, French and Portuguese.

Part I: Identification
After you have started your assessment, start with filling out your personal background information and health intervention you wish to assess. Please provide the requested information and add as many interventions as you wish.
If completing tool as a group – choose “Add More People” and complete each person’s background information. Add as many people as assist with the completion of the tool.
Part II: Scalability Attributes
seeks to address the attributes of the intervention that would be relevant to scaling. You are asked to rate your intervention in the perspective of each attribute. In accordance with its relevance to scale-up, you assess attributes at the range of 1 to 4. If you consider that an attribute is irrelevant to scaling up the intervention or are uncertain of their relevance, you can mark the attribute with 0 (zero). To know details of all attributes, see Annex 1. The notion below can guide you through the rating range:
- 1: Strongly Disagree There is no aspect of the attribute that applies to the intervention.
- 2: Somewhat Disagree Aspects of the attribute that do not apply to the intervention outweigh aspects that do
- 3: Somewhat Agree Aspects of the attribute that do apply to the intervention outweigh aspects that do not.
- 4: Strongly agree All aspects of the attribute apply to the intervention

Part III: Preview
Once the assessment is completed, a preview of the results are displayed and compared with other countries that have assessed the same interventions
